Hello, welcome to Kurt Martin Event Team, home of Kurt Martin and Kara Angulo.
Together they operate KMET out of Dresden Farm in Middleburg, Va.
Kurt, a very talented up and coming rider completed
his first Advanced Horse Trial at the age of 18. He is currently competing at the Advanced level with two horses
"Bru Maguire" and his own "Woodwork." Kurt has been selected for the United States Developing Rider team in 2000 with
two horses, both horses whom which he had brought up from the novice level himself. He was also
very successful in the Young Riders program competing in 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003. On three different horses
Kurt has competed and had excellent placings at major three day events such as Radnor Hunt CCI** and
Jersey Fresh. The type of horses he enjoys the most are the "difficult minded" ones. He feels he understands them and can bring out their abilities.
Kara Angulo, also a very talented up and coming rider, is competing at the Intermediate level
with many top placings. Kara is excellent with young horses and focuses on running the business, riding, and
competing both her own and her clients horses. Her current horse Wiplala (pictured right), a five year old KWPN Dutch gelding, was
imported from England as a four year old. He most recently won his past two competitions including the Loudoun Horse
Trials (April 26th '08) in his novice division with a 21 and has been only second at his other novice events.
Kurt and Kara are very excited about his future!
